I have a mild case of hidradenitis suppirativa. i used to flare up alot when i was younger but threwout the years it seemed like it just stopped or really slowed down. All i am left with is bad scarring in my underarms. could this affect me with surgery. i am looking to have a tt,ba,and bbl in the dominican republic.

Answer: Plastic Surgery with HS Hello, thank you for your question. In general, you should not undergo any elective surgical procedure while you have an active infection. Even though mild as you put it, when you have surgery, the trauma may cause your immune system to slack a bit, it is a normal response to surgical trauma, but having a mild infection as benign as Hidradenitis, can turn into a major problem, specially undergoing a long combination of procedures as you intend, and most of all the breast augmentation, as the implant functions as a foreign material, and should be inserted with the most sterile technic to prevent it from harboring bacteria. My best advise, get treated first then have your surgery, mild cases of hidradenitis usually subside with antibiotics, and let your plastic surgeon know the antibiotic used, and the time frame between the active infection and the surgery.
