Can the threads be used to reduce wrinkles above the lip?

Hello and thank you for your question.  I would recommend a consultation with a board certified provider who specializes in procedures to reduce lip lines.  Threads are collagen stimulating and will typically help with these lines. Of course, a face to face consultation will allow the provider time to assess these lines to give you your best plan of care. The procedure will need to be repeated 2-3 times for complete results.  Your provider will likely also recommend threads with botox.  We also find great success starting with ResurFx and then followed by threads and a neurotoxin. This is a great question. Upper lip lines can be frustrating. Up till now there was really only fillers and neuromodulators or resurfacing. We have been having amazing results with the Instalift threads for both support of the tissue and minimization of wrinkles in the upper lip. These threads cause a foreign body reaction and actually imrove the texture of the skin as well with time. The threads go away over 18 months but the collagen that is formed is permanent. It is certainly worth considering in my opinion.

There are many tools for improving upper lip lines, such as neuromodulators (Botox), fillers, and PDO threads, and I have used them all, even in my own lips! In general, PDO threads will achieve a bit of plumping, and a 20%-30% reduction in the lines. I would probably not do it as a stand-alone procedure, but if I were putting threads in the vermillion border, I might go ahead and put a couple on each side of the upper lip, but only for very mild lip lines. Thank you for your question. The PDO threads would certainly be beneficial in reducing the wrinkles around your lips. You should plan for a series of 2 to 4 sets of threads placement performed every 4-6 weeks. The collagen stimulation from the threads should soften the peri-oral wrinkles over time.
