I have been hearing a lot about different kinds of thread lifts : The Silhouette, Wide Awake, Novathreads. Do they actually lift the skin? Doesn't the skin "bunch up" somewhere? What could go wrong with this procedure?

Answer: Thread lifts for jowls Thread lifts such as Silhouette are useful in the treatment of jowls. The results are subtle and will not compare to a surgical face or neck lift. They are also temporary and so they will last about 12-18 months. The skin is lifted and pulled therefore there is some puckering of the skin but this usually resolves by 2 weeks.

Answer: Thread Lift. Thank you for asking the question. The lifting effect of threads depends on the type of threads. The PDO Threads generally do not work to well on the jowls and neck and generally the lifting effect is very minimal The Cog-threads and other non dissolvable threads have a far better result because they are able to engage the skin and cause an actual lift which is visible right there. Therefore it is better that you can consult some Plastic Surgeon or an Aesthetic Dermatologist in your area to better understand the solution. Regards, Dr. Amit Gupta
