Hello, I recently had Profound RF Micro-needling done by a plastic surgeon to reduce my acne scars. I did not see any Hyperpigmentation after the treatment. 3 weeks after the treatment I suddenly started noticing PIH on my cheek bones. Does profound RF micro needling cause Hyperpigmentation? How long will it be before I get a even skin tone? Thanks.

We have had great success using Profound for acne scarring on all skin types and rarely see any pigmentation irregularities.  This could be related to sun exposure as well and I recommend seeing your surgeon to evaluate for any needed treatment with anti inflammatory or lightening agents.

It is very unlikely that the hyperpigmentation is from Profound as it does not have a light or laser component to it. It has radio frequency. Profound is NOT microneedling so I'm concerned that you might be talking about a different procedure. "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and
