Ive been removing my tattoo for the last 2 yrs now and am SO frustrated. I’ve seen so many others make way more progress in half the amount of time that I’ve made mine in. I still have lines that look BRAND NEW. I’m feeling so completely hopeless and I dont now what to do or where to turn. Can someone please give me some advice on which laser is better!? My tat is all black line work and I’ve been using the picosure which doesn’t seem all that great.

Answer: Picosure or Q Switch? I am sorry to hear that your experience has been so frustrating. I can assure you this is not typical. We absolutely recommend the PicoSure laser over the older Q-switched devices, which took way longer, were more painful, and less effective. More detail would be helpful in terms of the treatments you have had. Experience is a big factor with tattoo removal, and my concern would be that your treatments may not have been at the right interval, with the right settings, or perhaps even the right wavelength. You might consider switching to a more experienced provider, but with time and patience you should see results.

Answer: So Many Unanswered Questions... Thanks for your question. I'm sorry that you are not seeing the results you wanted. If we knew more of your history, we could probably figure it out. Wondering: How often are you being treated? How much experience does the provider have? Are the settings correct? Does the tattoo "frost" during treatment? What is your skin type?We have been doing PicoSure tattoo removal for almost 4 years. We constantly update our treatment protocols based on our experience of what works and what doesn't. One of the most important things we do is build patient expectations. Removing permanent ink safely takes a long time. For most patients, we tell them to expect 18 months to 2 years.Much of tattoo removal is up to the patient. The laser is just breaking the ink up into smaller particles that your immune system has to carry it away. That just takes time and if your body is busy processing smoke, fatty food, bad habits, it is going to take longer. We have learned that you should wait 3-6 months between treatments to get the most benefit from each one. If the tattoo is below the knee or elbow, it going to take longer.Settings and experience will determine your laser tattoo removal success. There are no blanket settings that work. We have to factor in your skin type, what settings were used previously and the results, where the ink is now... Frosting is a good indication that we have shattered ink particles. Your lines could be getting more defined because the ink is getting closer to the surface.I hope this helps. We would recommend staying with a picosecond laser by someone with the most experience with it. After 2 years, you should probably wait 6 months between effective treatments. Best of luck.

Answer: Pico way over Picosure or back to nano lasers. Picosure is excellent for greens and skin rejuvenation in Ethnic skin types. This is my primary laser of choice in this situation. After 3-4 sessions it energy levels or pulse duration is too long. In this situation PicoWay is a better laser. Nano lasers can also work. Picosure has been the very first Picosecond laser, and substandard that in todays day and age, soft wear and hardware upgrades have not been done for nearly 5 years! Like I said, I still think its a good laser in the correct context, but if you have black that does not go with the Boost on and the correct spots size- don't keep retreating as you are wasting your money. The 1064 of Picosure is filtered so it won't do anything to your tattoo.. Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
