I did one treatment of Picosure and it turned my face very red and it looks burnt. Will all the red areas go back to normal?

Hi, I did one treatment on Picosure laser and turned out very red and looks burnt. I am so worry it will not be better to normal. I have seen many cases and never looked this burnt. I think they did it too strong. What can I do? Will all the red area back to normal? Will the freckles get darker ?

it is not uncommon to get some redness after a Picosure treatment. Many people will have the redness, go away in a few minutes. Sometimes it can last longer. When my wife had her treatment, she was red (mildly red) until the evening. It can be covered with make up. sometimes if the treatment was aggressive and your skin is sensitive, you can be red longer. You should also be using only a moisturizer while your skin in sensitive and a good sunblock for when you are outside. It will improve so try and be patient. It also happens, that freckles and pigmented areas will get darker. they will gradually lighten. Again, try and be patient. You should plan at least 3 sessions, each a month apart. If you are still red, i would delay the next session, until it resolves. Also, they can modify which lens they use and the number of pulses, so that your next session, is less intense. hang in there. It should be worth it. david berman md
