I learned that an old filling had a problem. The dentist said I might need a root canal, but since I hadn't experienced any pain, it was possible that only a crown was needed. At the follow up appt, she decided to do just a crown. It has now been a week and the pain is only getting worse. At first, ibuprofen was sufficient for the pain, but now it is throbbing, to the point where the last two nights it has kept me from sleep. Will this pain go away with the permanent crown? Is this normal?
