Sorry to hear that. If you had a root canal and you are sensitive in the same area to heat and sweet, it is not that tooth, most probably it is another tooth! If proper root canal is done and you have had a crown, there should be no temperature sensitivity! Also a cracked tooth can cause pain...

Hi:If there is pain upon biting, you should go back to your dentist to recheck the bite in different jaw movements and make sure there is no clenching or grinding pressure on the crown.  This can also effect the hot and cold sensitivity.Best,Dr. Maddahi
