Question

I have a lot of thickness around mouth and I hate it. Makes me have long upper lip area. What can be done to balance this area out? My lips stick out further than my chin too.

Thicker skin and volume around the mouth can sometimes make the upper lip area look elongated or give the appearance of imbalance between the lips and chin. This can be influenced by genetics, skin thickness, and facial structure.

Treatment approaches that may help balance the area include:

Dermal fillers or biostimulatory injectables: Strategically placed filler in the chin or jawline can improve facial harmony and reduce the appearance of a protruding lip area.

Lip reshaping: Subtle filler or techniques to redefine the vermilion border can help enhance proportion.

Skin tightening treatments: Radiofrequency, ultrasound-based devices, or fractional lasers can reduce heaviness by tightening and refining skin texture.

Skincare: Retinoids, exfoliating agents, and collagen-stimulating products can gradually improve skin quality and reduce thickened appearance.

In some cases, the issue is more structural than skin-related, meaning the balance between lips and chin plays a larger role. Addressing both skin quality and facial proportions together often gives the most natural-looking improvement.

Hello. your observations are totally right about the pressure to mouth. When we look at the photos, I see hollowing and bagging in the lower eyelids, and I also see sagging in your mid-face. Due to this sagging, it pushes your lips downwards, giving this appearance even though you are young. A mid-face lift combined with a lip lift will be the solution to all of these. In this way, the effect of both the eyes and the sagging cheeks on the lips will be eliminated.

You may benefit from a chin implant as well as a lip lift. A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. At the same time, you can have fat transfers to the nasolabial folds.
