I’ve lost 200lbs in the past 2 years and am still currently losing weight I’m about 40lbs away from my goal weight. I have noticed sagging skin in my face that I would like to get improved maybe through fillers as a face lift wouldn’t be an option due to financial constraints. Could fillers help make a significant improvement? Is there any other option other than fillers or facelift to improve the appearance significantly?
Answer: Biostimulators! Hello and thank you for your question! Sculptra and Radiesse are two of the best non-surgical solutions for addressing facial sagging and volume loss after significant weight loss. Sculptra is a collagen-stimulating injectable that gradually restores lost volume and improves skin quality over time. It’s ideal for those who have generalized facial volume loss, as it works by encouraging your body to produce its own collagen. -Restores facial volume naturally over a few months. -Improves skin texture and firmness by thickening the skin. -Long-lasting results (2-3 years) with a series of treatments. -Because Sculptra works gradually, it’s a great option if you want subtle, natural-looking improvement over time. Radiesse is another excellent option for volume restoration, but it works differently than Sculptra. It provides an immediate volumizing effect while also stimulating collagen production over time. -Provides instant structural support and lift, especially in the midface and jawline. -Improves skin elasticity and firmness as it stimulates collagen. -Long-lasting results (12-18 months). If you're looking for gradual, long-lasting collagen stimulation, Sculptra is the better choice. If you want immediate volume with some collagen stimulation, Radiesse may be a better fit. In some cases, they can be combined strategically for the best results. Best of luck, I hope this helps! Answer: Are Dermal Fillers Effective for Sagging Skin After Weight Loss? Expert Insights and Alternatives Congratulations on your weight loss journey! Addressing sagging skin after significant weight loss can be challenging, but there are non-surgical options that might help improve facial appearance. Here are some suggestions: Dermal Fillers: Fillers can help restore lost volume and provide some lift to sagging skin, particularly in areas like the cheeks and jawline. While they may not fully address excess skin, they can improve the overall contour of your face. Skin Tightening Treatments: Non-surgical skin tightening methods, such as Ultherapy (which uses ultrasound) or radiofrequency treatments, can stimulate collagen production and gradually tighten loose skin. Microneedling: Often combined with radiofrequency, microneedling can improve skin texture and firmness by promoting collagen and elastin production. Thread Lifts: This minimally invasive procedure involves using temporary sutures to lift the skin slightly, which can provide a subtle, immediate lift and stimulate collagen production over time. Consultation with a Specialist: It's advisable to consult with a board-certified dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon. They can assess your skin and recommend a combination of treatments tailored to your specific needs and budget. Lifestyle and Skincare: Maintaining a good skincare routine with products that promote collagen production, such as retinoids and vitamin C, can also support skin health. While fillers and other non-surgical options may not provide the same results as a facelift, they can offer noticeable improvements. A consultation with a specialist will help determine the best course of action based on your individual condition and goals.
