I had filler placed in the left upper cheek very close to my under eye area about three months ago. Following that appointment, now when I smile my left side of my nose does not elevate. As she was treating me she did hit a nerve and I felt a good zing, but it didn’t hurt. What could possibly be happening that causing this issue and how should i fix It? Thank you

It's possible that the filler may be affecting the movement of the muscles around your nose, particularly if a nerve was impacted during the injection. The sensation you described when the filler was placed could indicate temporary irritation or compression of a nerve. This can sometimes result in altered movement or asymmetry when smiling. In most cases, these effects are temporary and may resolve as the filler settles or is gradually absorbed by the body. However, if the issue persists, it is important to consult with your provider. They may recommend options such as massage, hyaluronidase (an enzyme that can dissolve hyaluronic acid fillers), or other treatments tailored to your specific situation. Always ensure you are working with a qualified and experienced injector for any follow-up treatments.
