Is sculptra the best option to fill my hip dips and become more hourglass shaped? (photo)

You will need about 20 per side as a good start. The simple fact is that Sculptra is extraordinarily expensive, and was not designed for large volume augmentation. 

Thank you for your question!  You may benefit from Sculptra or possibly from a skin tightening laser. Once sculptra is in the skin the skin responds by producing collagen. If you are unhappy with the results, it will take 1-2 years for that specific area to subside. You can camouflage the are with other fillers or use sculptra around to make the area more contoured. I suggest you see an expert for a formal consultation to evaluate if additional volume or skin tightening or lifting such as threads, Thermage, Ultherapy is needed. Lumps are best left alone to resolve on their own but steroids, 5fu, and hyaluronidase can be used to help shrink them in some instances. Best, Dr. Emer.

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. It is recommended that you reach your goal weight prior to any elective procedure. Once you reach your goal weight, there is a chance that you will have some extra fat to be used as a graft which might be a lot better option. If you are considering a treatment, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Many of my patients get Sculptra to add volume to their hip dips. Added volume to this area will make your butt plumper and rounder. Be sure to consult with your doctor to confirm that you are a candidate for the procedure.

Thanks for sharing your photos. You look sensational with a firm appearing and well balanced butt. Sculptra is not a filler in a traditional sense. When Sculptra is injected into the fatty layer under the skin, it stimulates fibroblasts to produce collagen, elastin and other structural molecules to thicken the fibrous network. It does not grow fat. Your “hip dips” are created when the gluteus muscle complex of the lateral buttock contracts, creating the hollow . Firming or tightening this area with Sculptra may not help you.

Since you are planning to gain weight and fat distribution is genetically determined, not directed to your desired site(s), I would have you consider lipocontouring the fat gained in the upper inner thighs or other undesired areas to properly “fill” or volumize this buttock depression of fat deficit.

Great question!  I would suggest gaining your weight back before starting the Sculptra treatment since your body shape and contours will look different with the added pounds.If placed now, you could end up with some more irregularities in the wrong places.  Best wishes, Mary Beth Mudd
