What can I realistically expect my nose to become with rhinoplasty? I would love for it to be sculpted into something much more attractive. Realistically, I would like my nose to look a little longer with a more narrow nasal bridge as well as showing a bit more nostril. However, I don't see cases on realself that have my type of nose (bulbous, large nasal bridge) and if there are, I can't find it. I'm tired of flaring my nostrils in pictures to give it shape to make it look more pleasing. Help!
Answer: Achieving greater projection and refinement with Asian rhinoplasty Dramatic results can be achieved with Asian rhinoplasty, especially when rib cartilage is used by an experienced rhinoplasty specialist. The bridge and tip of the nose can be made much taller (6-7 mm) in a very predictable fashion. The flare and width of the nostrils may be reduced with alar base modification. It's important to keep in mind that although significant results can be achieved using synthetic grafts such as silicone, using autologous grafts (tissue from your own body) will yield the safest and most permanent results.

Answer: Rhinoplasty can make a nice improvement... The pictures show a flat nasal bridge and a wide nasal tip. With rhinoplasty, your nose can be brought into a much better balance by augmenting the bridge which will make it appear thinner. The nasal tip cartilage can be thinned to complement the improved nasal bridge. While we might not be able to improve every aspect of your nasal anatomy, you should have a nose that looks thinner and better defined. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty specialist for consultation.

Answer: Definition in Asian Rhinoplasty The typical Asian nose has a low, wide bridge and a wide, ill-defined tip. Improving its appearance requires increasing the overall size of the nose to stretch out the skin and provide more definition on the frontal view. Artificial implants such as silicone are common in many countries but have a higher risk of infection. I prefer to use rib cartilage grafting to raise the bridge and make it appear more narrow on the frontal view. Grafting is also used to project the tip and provide more refinement on the frontal view. An alar base reduction is often necessary to narrow the nostrils and make them proportionate to the new nasal width.

Answer: Asian Rhinoplasty. There is hope for improving the appearance of your nose! I think you would benefit from augmentation rhinoplasty with alar base narrowing. Building the dorsum of your nose will help to define the shape of it more and narrowing your alar base will help to get ride of the flaring nostrils. Osteotomies of the nasal bones can help to narrow the width of he upper part of your nose. If you'd like, you are welcome to come in for a consultation and we can use imaging software to project a realistic goal for your rhinoplasty.

Answer: Asian Rhinoplasty Technique Thank you for the question and your photo. Yes, your nose could be improved with nose surgery. In cases similar to yours, I use a combination of techniques to add height to the bridge, narrow the tip, and create more tip definition. This often means cartilage grafts from the septum and/or ear. In addition, I use a fascia graft from the temporalis area (behind the hairline). Please visit with a couple board-certified rhinoplasty specialists before making a decision. Best of luck!
