Hi there, sorry to hear about your complications with your microdermabrasion treatment. While there’s no surefire way to tell if your skin will scar or not, the good news is that you started treatment early on, which should help to minimize the risk of developing a scar. My best advice would be to continue using the hydrocortisone cream that your doctor gave you, and follow up with her in a few weeks if you’re not seeing an improvement in the discoloration. I am sorry about your experience and am glad you immediately followed up with a doctor.  The good news is that brown patches usually resolve on their own and, if not, can be easily treated.  The hydrocortisone cream is a good start.  If you still have hyperpigmentation in about 4 weeks, your doctor may want to add a hydroquinone cream.  Best of luck to you.
