What are my options and expected outcomes of temporalis reduction? (photos)

Your question is a very good question.  However, without a photo of your full face, it is difficult to determine all the proportions.  One of my specialties is male face lifting and treatment of the male face.  I have never seen a case of the temporalis muscle needing to be reduced to improve the aesthetics of a male face or a female face.  There are qualities to male faces that are needed for that masculine look, and qualities needed for the feminine look.  They are completely different.  Facial surgery is aimed at improving the features needed in each individual case, and unique in each one. Be sure to get a complete full facial exam and analysis before proceeding with a procedure.

Without
further diagramming, and a complete evaluation of your face, it is most
difficult to understand which part of your face/forehead you are describing as
temporal convexity. The temporalis muscle is a bi-laminated muscle filling the
temporal fossa in a "clam-shell" appearance under the zygomatic arch
with its tendon at the hinge of the clamshell attaching to the coronoid process
of the mandible.
In all
the photos submitted, the widest aspect of your head is above the temporal
muscle attachment where the parietal bone is attached to the temporal bone.
The
premise of using Botox to the temporal muscle would therefore be ill advised
for the following reasons:it would cause more
concavity of the temporal hollowit would weaken one of the
muscles used to close the mouthit would create a more
aged appearance by shifting the widest facial projection downwardIt would
be best to be evaluated and advised by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon or ENT
talented in the use of injectables for this area.

I don't believe there is actually a problem with your temporalis. If you want reduction, use some Botox, about 25 units per side. It won't affect the masseters. I wouldn't do surgery in this area.
