I asked 2 days ago about my teeth and I received great answers, but I noticed that the space is getting larger and it's more prominent when I floss. I had braces for 5 years. I never got my wisdom teeth removed and my teeth shifted a bit and my front teeth overlap very slightly now. I can't tell if I have a black triangle from overflossing or if I'm getting a gap from my teeth shifting. Should I bond this space or should I see an ortho and get braces again ? I'm not sure what to do ): thank you.

Answer: Black space The cause is multifactorial.Make sure you are not forcefully over flossing. (How many times a day are you flossing?)Gum loss MAY signify bone loss, so you may consider getting a consultation with a Periodontist (Gum specialist), if you notice that your teeth are mobile or shifting. Depending on the position/spacing of the lower teeth, a Hawley retainer can be activated by the Orthodontist, to bring the tooth contacts closer together, potentially helping close the space. Tough to tell with only limited information. As with all information, please consult a local dental professional prior to getting any dental treatment.Hope that helps!

Answer: Black triangle If you are happy with the shapes of your teeth I would recommend ortho to move the teeth to close the black triangle, this may require a little stripping of the teeth to squeeze them together. Bonding will work, but realize the bonding can stain over time
