What would be the best filler for an extremely gaunt face? (Photo)

I typically use Sculptra injections to provide volume to patients that have thin or gaunt faces.  Sculptra is a "biostimulator" product that causes a reaction to stimulate the body's own collagen.  Sculptra is an injectable treatment that is typically performed in a series of treatments (minimum of 2) and the number of vials per treatment varies between 1-2.  Sculptra typically can last up to 25 months, but many patients like to get a "booster" treatment to improve the volume even more around 1 year.  I suggest contacting a licensed & trained Sculptra provider to be evaluated for treatments.

The best option in my opinion is to use Sculptra in the face as it is not permanent but still long lasting (2 to 3 years). You can also opt for cheek implants to give a safe permanent solution. Since you appear quite young, you will need long term correction and cheek implants might be a better option. Do not use any permanent solution that cannot be reversed such as silicone or fat. RegardsDr. J

Thanks for the question and thanks for the photos as well. You needto make a consultation with a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon to learn the treatment options for you. We do have a very nice HA fillers for this – Voluma and Perlane would work well here. It depends on how much is used – but the cost will be one-two thousand dollars for complete correction that should last upwards of two years – again based on how much filler is used. One can also receive Sculptra here – again, a great choice. Several injections sessions are needed to correct the skin – but once corrected, results up to two years also can be obtained. Find the right doctor, learn the options out there, and take care of your concerns.

Fillers of various kinds can be used in different areas of the face to fill it out a bit.  It really depends upon what you desire. Best to be seen in person.

Sculptra would be my go to filler for you, with no hesitation. this is the perfect filler for someone that needs lots of volume. You will get a good amount of long lasting fil for a reasonable cost

Voluma or sculptra are good options for filler in the face. You may also want to consider fat grafting. These are better options. Talk to a plastic surgeon with experience .
