Pear Shaped Body with Breast Implants

Depending upon the choice of implant will often help improve the appearance of a pear shaped body.  A wider base implant will give you more of a curve and complement the lower body better.

If you are pear shaped and decide to go with a breast augmentation, it will most likely give your body the appearance of being curvy, balanced, and make your waist appear narrower.

I had two patients that were also pear shaped that never thought they would get breast implants. One was preparing for her wedding and found that dresses did not fit her well.  The other was a high power executive that had issues finding suits that fit both her top and bottom.  They both found that by getting breast implants they were able to find better fitting clothes that highlighted their curvaceous figure.

Be careful not to use too large of an implant as this can make you appear heavier.  Also consider liposuction at the same time as the breast augmentation.   This would be less costly than doing the two procedures at different times and should not increase the recovery time or risks of the procedures individually.

The description "pear-shaped body" implies "smaller on top" and "bigger on bottom".  Since placement of breast implants makes the "top" bigger, the illusion is that the body appears more proportionate resulting in a better balanced shape.  Be careful not to select  too large of an implant (or be talked into a large implant).  Remember that large breasts can make a woman look "matronly', a kind word for "overweight".  Your surgeon should be able to assist you with selecting a size based on your dimensions and the dimensions of the various implants that are available.
