Best way to remove flat moles/freckles on face/lips?

What is the best way to remove flat moles and/or freckles on the face (non cancerous, checked) and lips? Is there a different preferred method for freckles vs flat moles, face skin vs lip skin? I’ve been recommended CO2 laser by my derm but am scared of scarring as I have light skin. I’ve also heard about cryotherapy and taking them out by scalpel? Are there other better methods?

Answer: Freckles caused by sun damage can be treated with IPL laser treatments as well as hyfrecation for other small moles
