Hi, can you get zygoma reduction and jaw and chin contouring done at the same time along with rhinoplasty and facial fat graft? will the recovery be too complicated? if not, how should the procedures be spread out? thank you so much.

Answer: Facial Reshaping Combining cheekbone reduction osteotomies and v-line jaw surgery with rhinoplasty and fat graft can technically be done at the same time...but I wouldn't. You need to separate these procedures into two stages due to the recovery as well as for the best chance of survival of any fat grafting. The facial bone work should be done first and the rhinoplasty and fat grafting done as the second stage.

Answer: Multiple procedures The procedures you are contemplating our complex and have major implications. With such limited information we can’t really give you any type of real useful response.I suggest staying conservative and slowing down the train a bit.Peoples facial identity and appearance is primarily based on bone or skeletal structure. That is also the most involved in complex type of surgery.Fish or fat transfer has multiple pitfalls and potential issues to be concerned about. My view has always been that it’s better to stay conservative and have repeat rounds of facial fat transfer if needed. The plan of action should be based on an assessment which requires photographs and in reality and examination.Start with what gives the best improvement for the least risk or level of invasiveness.Personally I would not do these three surgeries at the same time.If for no other reason than that you won’t be able to decipher which procedure it was helpful.Especially regarding skeletal surgery and facial fat transfer. The choice of surgeon is paramount.Find the right surgeon and everything falls into place.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
