Also curious about general hyaluronic acid fillers here I am a female to male transgender individual who is taking testosterone, and am concerned the fillers in this area will inhibit the testosterone induced muscle strengthening

Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite-based filler, and its primary effect is volumization and structural support, not directly affecting the underlying muscle. It sits within the soft tissue and subcutaneous layers, rather than inside or around the masseter or other jaw muscles themselves. So, it does not inhibit muscle growth from testosterone or any natural hypertrophy processes.

For hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, the principle is similar—they primarily occupy the soft tissue space. HA fillers are temporary and malleable, and they don’t interfere with your muscles’ ability to strengthen or respond to hormones. In fact, they can even help refine contours while your muscles develop, which can be complementary to your masculinization goals.

The key is placement technique: when injected too superficially or directly into a muscle, any filler could theoretically alter movement or create unnatural resistance—but in standard jaw or chin augmentation, this is uncommon. Experienced injectors place the filler strategically around the jawline to enhance definition while allowing normal muscle function.
