Palomar Icon vs. BBL Sciton, which is better for me? (photos)

Question

I am looking to get IPL treatments for my face to reduce redness/mild rosacea and small sun spots. I am fair skin. If possible, I have a few dark hairs on lip that would be nice to get rid of as well. I have an option of the Palomar Max Icon for $350/session full face and the BBL Sciton for $500/session full face. I’m wondering if the Sciton is better and worth the extra $150 a session. I think I will need 3 sessions which will add $450 altogether. Is there a difference in effectiveness?

Great question. The Sciton is a much better system and is more likely to give you the results you are looking for, likely in less sessions. What may take 2-3 sessions with the Sciton is likely to take 4 or more with the Palomar. Sciton also has research showing that it can slow skin aging.There is more at play than just the laser platform, though. It's a lot like a race - it's not just the car, but the driver. Find out a lot more about the laser operators' experience. It makes a real difference.

These two devices are not the same. Sciton makes the very best and most powerful flash lamp technology on the market. In addition, they have created multiple pass treatment programs that allow for highly effective and safe treatments. The reason why it costs more is that it takes longer. You can expect 6-7 passes over your skin with multiple different filters and spot sizes to target not only your problem areas but also help with general skin health. Results are worth the investment.
