What can I do for Otoplasty revision? (Photo)

Question

I had ear pinning surgery a year and a half ago and am not happy with the results on my left ear. The shape of it looks odd to me and the rim looks almost cut- off. I Was wondering what can be done to correct the issue or if it’s as good as it’s going to get.

It would be difficult to give you good answer based on these photos. Revision otoplasty may sometimes be very difficult to perform. In person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon, expert in otoplasty, is recommended. Good luck.

I’m sorry for your experience. The final shape is generally achieved between a few months to a year.

The excessive correction of protruding ears can be corrected through a procedure known as "reverse otoplasty." This technique is used to address a frequent complication of the standard otoplasty procedure, which involves over-correction. In a reverse otoplasty, a tiny strut of rib cartilage is inserted behind the ear to achieve reliable and effective reversal of the over-correction.
