I'm a 55 yr old with diabetes. I take metformin twice a day. I am 5'0 165 lbs. I just lost 32 lbs. I am a 38 H. Have back and shoulder pain. I was told it's to much of a risk for infection. They would not do it.

Lower your BMI to below 30. For you, that means a body weight of 152 lbs or less. 2. Keep your Hemoglobin A1C to below 5.5%3. Don't smoke, and don't be around those that smoke either indoors or out. Once again, I commend you on your weight loss. You are getting very close. If you haven't already, please consider a high protein/fat, low carb diet. This will help with decreasing body fat stores, maintain muscle, and lower blood glucose. Best of luck!

Answer: Breast reduction Diabetes is not a contraindication for Breast reduction surgery however it is imperative that you have tight control of your sugar and hbga1c.
