i m 33 yrs old male. not after surgery but yes before surgery i was doing weight lifting,taking protein packed diet n even these days i m taking regulary 48 grams protein daily through whey protein powder mixed in milk n gnc triple action fish capsules....what i noticed is my grafts have grown a bit.not a single graft fell out. my sis n all ppl around me say the same.Do grafts really sometimes start growing without falling or is it just my crap theory.my surgeon has told me the basics but.... !

Transplanted hairs usually shed first few weeks after surgery.  Transplanted hair starts to grow 6 to 12 months after surgery.

Your hair will typically fall out after about 1 to 2 weeks.  Then the hair follicle will go into hibernation for about 3 months.  At this point the hair should begin to grow again.

Many times, these grafts begin to grow before falling out. This occurs as the newly transplanted follicle goes into the stage of telegen, a type of hybernation.  The hair then begins growing at 3-4 months.

Most of the time, grafts fall out. This can be week 1-2 (for follicular unit extraction or FUE type procedures) or week 1.5-4 (for follicular unit strip surgery or FUSS type procedures).  That's the normal process - falling out a few weeks after surgery and then growing back again 3 months later.But there are lots and lots of patients that don't follow this plan - hairs stay in longer and in a very small proportion hairs don't seem to fall out at all!There's a wide variation. One thing is clear - it's never a worry if hairs stay in longer. The only worry is if they fall out too early - i.e first 4-5 days.

Hairs go into Telogen (sleep) after they get transplanted and come out of telogen at about 5-6 months when they grow out normally at 1/2 inch per month.

On average they fall off and start to grow a few months but I have had very few clients that didn't shed and some of their transplanted hair grew out right away.
