How painful are internal stitches?

I'm five weeks post op and have a small sharp object under the skin near my incisions. Surgeon said it's internal stitches that she can remove in a few weeks- I'm in lots of pain. Can stitch under skin really cause this?

Unfortunately, insurance does not cover a tummy tuck. Occasionally with documentation of recurrent infection they will pay for a panniculectomy (simply removing loose skin).#tt#tummytuck

The general guideline for outpatient surgery is 6 hours.  Make sure your doctor is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.  It seems that you are young and healthy so the risk of anesthesia is really, really, really small.  If you are concerned about anesthesia, then talk no...

Sorry for your frustration. I agree with Dr. Whitfield. The sciatic nerve should be very medial to the path of the liposuction cannula. I don't have a good explanation for your pain, but an EMG and NCV should be able to document the potential change in muscle/nerve activity. I'm sorry you...

Thanks for the question. It’s too early to comment over the result.
