I would just like to know at around which week does the buttock retain its shape and size? I do understand it takes 6-12 months for final result to be seen. But from my knowledge that is referring to the the liposuctioned areas? How about the buttock/day grafted areas? I’ve heard 4 weeks - 6 weeks? Is this true
Answer: BBL Post-Op Hello and Great Question. I appreciate the time you are spending researching this procedure. My name is Dr. Matthew J. Nykiel. I am a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, a Fellowship Trained Cosmetic Surgeon, and a Butt Augmentation Specialist. The results immediately following surgery will be the largest due to swelling and lack of fat resorption. The buttock will continue to decrease in size for the first few weeks. At about 6 weeks the results are permanent. I hope that helps! Best of Luck! Matthew J. Nykiel, MD #CoreAesthetic Butt Augmentation Specialist Liposuction Specialist Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: When does the buttock stop shrinking after a BBL? The results immediately following surgery will be the largest due to swelling and lack of fat resorption. The buttock will continue to decrease in size for the first few weeks. At about 6 weeks the results are permanent. About 50% of the fat that is transferred lives and becomes a part of you. This will hold stable as long as there is no weight fluctuation. The fat will not move, but losses in weight will distribute differently. The fat that lives in the buttocks from the procedure will get larger with weight gain and smaller with weight loss. I have seen patients after a year or two and the pictures reveal that the BBL results are permanent. Perhaps this is due to injection technique, harvest technique, amount transferred.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: BBL results Dear alyssamae527,every patients is different. Some patients need more time to fully heal after the surgery. Generally speaking, most patients lose 30-50% of transferred fat. If you have any concerns, I suggest you to consult your plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: When does the buttock stop shrinking after a BBL? The standard loss is between 4 weeks (earliest) to 12 weeks (latest) for the buttock shrinking. Your surgeon will be able to tell you at your routine follow up visit if it is actual fat loss or actual inflammation reduction during your recovery period.

Answer: When does the buttock stop shrinking after a BBL? Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. After a BBL, only about 70% of the transferred fat cells will survive, so it is normal to see a minor reduction in your buttocks. If you have any concerns, I suggest you to follow up close with your plastic surgeon. Good luck :)
