My oversized teeth push my lower lip out; Is it possible to shave them down or will my smile look worse? (photo)

You have a few options here, so I'll list them in no particular order.You could make an appointment with a maxilofacial surgeon to discuss possible jaw re-positioning.  This would involve moving your lower jaw back, in order to move your bottom lip back some.  You could consult a cosmetic dentist to discuss extracting a couple of teeth on the bottom, then closing the spaces using Invisalign (and possibly crowns and bridges).  You could consult an orthodontist to discuss extracting some teeth, then using lingual braces to close the spaces.  You may want to choose one of the options above, or choose to investigate each option, but hopefully you find an excellent dentist that can do the job.  Good luck and I hope this helps. It is really not a good option to "shave off" the tooth to achieve your goals.  You would very quickly run into dentin and end up with a very sensitive tooth.  A much better plan of action is to talk to an orthodontist to see what your options are.  It is possible, with some fairly simple tooth movement, your teeth will be in a better position for you.  Good luck!
