I started to break out again. Should I go back on Accutane?

I have been on accutane 60mg for 4 months, it was hell but so worth it... i had clear skin for 11 months and was proud to walk around without make up on. In May, i started to break out again (its not as bad as pre-accutane) and I'm trying several creams and topical products... nothing is clearing my skin!! Should i try accutane again?

Accutane is always an option for patients who have responded
well to it but have not reached their maximum dose. Accutane can
work very well but it can take a full 6 months on it to see long lasting
results. There are definitely other options for treating acne and it would
probably be best to have a consultation with your doctor to decide which
treatment would give you the best results.

Most people need between 8000-16000 total mg of Accutane for an effective long-term cure for acne. If you took 60mg for 4 months that is a total of 7200mg. While that could be enough for some people, it clearly wasn't enough for you. Consult your doctor about another regimen, which should require less meds since you've already been on it before.
