I am in my mid 40’s. I have lines on my Nasolabial Folds that are bothering me. I went to one doctor that suggested using Voluma directly onto the lines to smooth them out. The other doctor suggested using Restylane and doing a contour lift on my cheeks. She said that would be better in lifting the lines back. I have huge cheeks as it is and don’t want them bigger. Which approach would be better for smoothing out faint/mild lines around my mouth?

Thank you for your inquiry! By your photos, you're a great candidate for filler to your tear trough to help fill the hollowness. We would love to meet with you in person. Schedule a consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon like myself to help you reach your goals and create a plan.
The principles for this are actually quite simple. Excessive and/or frequent movement of the muscles of facial expression (in this case the muscles n the glabella region) causes dynamic wrinkles, I.e. wrinkling of the skin with scowling, frowning and squinting. After years of daily frowning, etc...
I encourage you to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon near you for a consultation. If you liked the result of fillers but are not longer interested in the temporary results you may want to consider a blepharoplasty. You can also look into options such as AccuTite.
