I don't know the answer to your question. What I do know is that the best way to avoid (and to resolve) nodules is vigorous massage with aggressive fluid intake. I recommend twice-a-day massage to treated areas for 5-10 minutes. You should not have a repeat procedure until your nodules have resolved.
