I have seen conflicting answers to this question. I'm 22 and have been on it for 3.5 years with good results and thickening of my hair, but I am worried about what the future holds. Based on the 10 year finasteride study, is it true that the drug may be even more effective the longer you take it?
Answer: Propecia Yes, you need to keep taking propecia to maintain the hair. Other options are PRP injections or hair transplant. These are both good options that can help achieve results that propecia is unable to achieve.

Answer: Understanding Hair loss and hair loss treatment options: hair transplant, prp and progesterone Yes, you will need to continue use of propecia/finasteride to maintain results. This needs an in-person evaluation. Every so often, we do see an itchy bumpy rash following laser hair removal. This is usually because of irritation of the hair follicles in the treated area, and this can be easily treated with a mild cortisone preparation. I suggest contacting your Dr. for a topical solution. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Finasteride management for hair loss Finasteride is a good long-term option, barring any side effects. Since you have been on it for 3.5 years, the Finasteride will maintain what you have gained. Most reports on Finasteride state that it levels out or slightly decreases in effectiveness after 5 years. I have had many patients stable on for 15 to 20 years and it varies depending on your particular situation.

Answer: Finaseride This drug, when taken for a long time, seems to compare favorably with people who never take it by maintaining hair longer. As you see to have a good effect, stay on it
