it had been 5 month I am using minoxidil 5% as my doctor suggested, I got some improvement , not sure it is because of new hairs or my hairs get thicker but my small bald cortex area now cover with hair. We notice the slow improvement . Now my doctor suggest me to use minoxidil 10% and I followed. It has been 20 days pass using minoxidil 10%, my hair fall again started and it was same that I felt when I started minoxidil 5%. Please let me know is it normal or minoxidil 10% is not working on me.

Answer: Minoxidil 5% vs 10% The debate as to whether 10% is better than the 5% has been going on for years. While it may seem intuitively obvious that more is better, there are no clinical studies to confirm it. First, only the 5% is FDA approved. Second, there is a limit as to high high a concentration is even possible because the minoxidil is dissolved in glycol or alcohol. Both of these substances can evaporate causing the minoxidil to crystallize. It appears that 7.5% is the highest possible concentration unless it is dissolved in something else, and that impact of that substance is unknown. I suggest you stick with the 5%. If that is not working, try LLLT or PRP or both.
