It generally takes 2-4 weeks for the side effects associated with Accutane to fully resolve. This includes normalization of your fasting labs including elevated lipid levels. For this reason I generally advise continuing all precautions including avoidance of alcohol for at least 2 weeks until after completion of Accutane course. If you had other side effects such elevated liver functions tests then you should consult with your dermatologist about timing of re-starting alcohol consumption. Good luck!
