I received a breast lift with implants earlier this year, and the incision on one side is much higher. It is visible with swim suit tops, etc. I need a revision for different reasons, and at that time, I will receive scar correction surgery, but im worried it will still be highly visible. It sounds like it will be moved closer to my breast gold, but my question is, is it possible to shorten it so it’s no longer visible with bras, swim tops, etc?
Answer: Scars Thank you for your inquiry! Scar creams can be used on scars to minimize appearance as well as silicone scar sheets. Lasers such as Microneedling can also be performed to minimize appearance as well. We would love to see you in person or virtually to discuss treatment options or schedule a consult with a licensed aesthetician.

Answer: Treatments such as resurfacing lasers can be done to help minimize appearance of scars. Our office has many different treatments for scars depending on the depth of atrophy or hypertrophy. Scars require a combination approach using our HI DEF protocol which uses a combination of lasers, topical scar modulation, and RF treatments to pixelate scars, improve contour, reduce hyperpigmentation, and improve the visibility of the scars so that they are no longer visible in ambient light. Everyone has a unique pattern of scarring and we employ our HIDEF technique to improve texture, color, contour, and topography. We often use a combination of treatments that begin with a careful examination to examine the micro texturing of the acne scars. Atrophic scars and indented scars can benefit from injectable fillers such as Radiesse, Sculptra, and Restylane with or without subcision to remove tethered scars and atrophic depression. Hyper-redness in scars can be improved with V beam laser, Excel V, BBL, IPL, and Venus RF to improve the redness and reduce the visibility of deep scars. Fractional Thulium laser and clear & brilliant can also reduce the inflammation and redness of the scar when combined with topical therapy. Fractional lasers such as Fraxel, erbium, and CO2 laser can be combined with radio frequency and also fractional RF to improve textual issues and microtopography. Subcision and TCA cross are also used for deep ice pick scars and narrow valley scars in order to improve the micro texture. Above all, our combination approach with our clinical nurses and board-certified plastic surgeons can improve the quality of your skin by using at home Melarase creams combined with PRP treatments in our office to improve your skin quality and tone. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an experienced team of experts in order to reduce your scarring. Finally, hyperpigmentation of scars can be improved with at-home Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads to help reduce active PIH and melanin deposition. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Reducing Breast Lift Scar Visibility It's understandable to be concerned about the visibility of scars after a breast lift with implants. Here are some considerations and advice regarding your situation: 1. Consultation with Your Surgeon: - Discuss Your Concerns: During your revision consultation, clearly communicate your concerns about the visibility and length of the scar. - Scar Placement: Ask your surgeon about the possibility of repositioning the scar closer to the inframammary fold (the natural crease under the breast) where it is less likely to be visible in swimwear and bras. 2. Techniques for Scar Reduction: - Scar Revision Surgery: This can involve removing the old scar tissue and re-suturing the area to create a finer, less noticeable scar. - Minimizing Scar Length: While it might not be possible to significantly shorten the scar without compromising the aesthetic results of the breast lift, a skilled surgeon can often place the scar more strategically. - Advanced Suturing Techniques: Using meticulous suturing techniques can help create a thinner, less visible scar. 3. Post-Surgical Scar Management: - Silicone Sheets or Gels: These can help flatten and soften scars over time. - Massage Therapy: Regularly massaging the scar (as advised by your surgeon) can improve its appearance. - Laser Treatments: Post-surgical laser treatments can reduce redness and improve the texture and appearance of scars. - Topical Treatments: Applying prescribed ointments or creams that contain ingredients like hyaluronic acid or onion extract can aid in scar healing. 4. Realistic Expectations: - Healing Time: Scars continue to mature and fade over time, often becoming less noticeable after a year or more. - Individual Healing: Everyone heals differently, and factors like genetics, skin type, and adherence to post-operative care can influence scar appearance. 5. Alternative Options: - Camouflage Techniques: If the scar remains visible, consider using makeup or specialized scar-concealing products for special occasions. 6. Second Opinion: - If you're unsure or not entirely comfortable with your current surgeon's plan, seeking a second opinion from another board-certified plastic surgeon might provide additional options or reassurance. While it may not be possible to significantly shorten the scar without affecting the breast lift results, strategic repositioning and advanced scar management techniques can help reduce its visibility. Discuss all your concerns and options thoroughly with your surgeon to achieve the best possible outcome.
