Are there more risks with Lipo when dealing with VERY mild lipedema? I'm 23 years, 115 lbs, 5'2", active.

Because of the lipedema, you will experience more post op swelling and your post op care will need to be different. So, make sure to see a surgeon or cosmetic dermatologist with a lot of experience in liposuction and to give him or her your full medical history. Best, Dr. Nazarian

You need someone very skilled in liposuction and water assisted versions when you have lipedema.  Also your healing and post operative care is very different.  Please only see an expert.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Liposuction is effective but you will experience prolonged swelling especially if done on the lower extremity below the knee.
