How long should I expect the incision under my breast to be sore?

How long can I expect the incisions (under breast) to be sore? My dominate is pretty sore but no swelling, redness, or heat coming from it. I was given Gabapentin but DO NOT want to take that anymore. I know I can take Tylenol but anything else I can do to help maybe alleviate that? 1 week post op. Also don't want to take the 4000 mg per day of Tylenol she said I can take. My stomach wasn't handling that very well! Thanks!

The incisions can be sore after the surgery for up to a week but if it is extreme there might be a problem.  Best to consult with your plastic surgeon regarding this.

Thank you for your question. It will be helpful to see pictures. usually incision tenderness lasts for about 2-4 weeks. It also depending on the status like infection etc. Please follow up with your PS and express your concerns

Ibuprofen may help if your surgeon is amenable. This may be a nerve irritation and a Novocaine product may break the pain cycle. Just a suggestion.All the best,Talmage Raine MD

It would be helpful to know the type of surgery and how long it has been since your surgery. Photos could also show the appearance of the incision, which would be helpful. However, incisions are different with different surgeries (the amount of tension at closure) and patients heal at different rates. some patients heal faster and better than others. there are other techniques to help with your soreness. see your BCPS for suggestions and follow up.
