Answer: Improving facial scar with subcision--add lasers, microneedling/prp, fillers, silicone gel with growth factors A combination approach is needed to give this improvement. I recommend silicone gel with growth factors, subcision, lasers, microneedling/prp and fillers. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial scarring expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Subcision Followed By Microneedling Can Help To Camouflage White, Linear Scars I am sorry that you are having this difficulty. Unfortunately, no technology exists today that can completely eliminate a mature (greater than three months old) scar from any cause. The good news, however, is that a couple of simple, quick, and relatively inexpensive treatments, subcision and microneedling, can help to significantly improve the appearance of depressed, off-white/reddish scars. In fact, in my personal collection, I have before and after photos of just such a significant improvement in a vertical, off-white, linear scar in an individual with skin of color following subcision and microneedling. The subcision lifts the base of the scar so that it is more flush with the surrounding skin and hence less visible, particularly in tangential lighting. The microneedling can address post-inflammatory erythema (redness) and when combined with the application of certain topical pigmenting agents, such as tyrosine and bimatoprost, can help to promote repigmentation. You would do well to seek consultation and treatment by a board certified aesthetic physician with expertise in all forms of scar treatments, and not simply anyone or medspas hawking this or that latest unproven laser device. And for more on subcision and microneedling for scar treatments, check out the archives of RealSelf.com. Best of luck to you.

Answer: Acne Scars A multi-modal approach would be best. A vascular laser such as Excel V to diminish the redness, microneedling with PRP, subcision, fillers, and laser resurfacing would all be beneficial to you. Consult with an experienced and board-certified cosmetic physician.
