Numbness, tingling and pain in one leg, 1 year after liposuction surgery?

Temporary numbness, tingling sensations and hypersensitivity is common after liposuction and generally improves up to and sometimes longer than one year post-op. It is unusual to have the persistent symptoms you describe at this stage. I would definitely discuss your symptoms with your plastic surgeon if you haven't already. I would also see a neurologist and pain management specialist. Sometimes medications like Neurontin help nerve pain, and surgery may be an option as well, but I would first get an evaluation to see if there is an anatomic reason for your pain. Symptoms could occur from nerve damage, scar tissue, or a pinched or compressed nerve. I would work first to diagnose your condition with the help of other physicians, consider testing such as EMG or MRI to provide diagnostic information, and then formulate the best treatment plan.

I would certainly discuss these issues with your plastic surgeon. These symptoms may or may not be related to liposuction. There are other causes of these symptoms such as disc disease of the lower spine etc. You may ultimately need to be seen by a neurologist or a spinal surgeon.
