I would first like to know what "type" of numbness you are experiencing. Temporary numbeness as described by a "woody" sensation may be normal and should really resolve fairly quickly ( less than 10 days). If you have numbness of your lower lip or chin area then I would have you speak with you surgeon about that as this may a different issue.
