Why is It It Seems Nose Swells when Getting Up Early?

Swelling following a rhinoplasty can persist and fluctuate for up to two years following surgery, with the majority of swelling typically resolving within the first year for a primary rhinoplasty. Swelling may be more persistent in revision rhinoplasty cases or in cases that require extensive grafting. Swelling can fluctuate during times of increased blood flow, such as during exercise or after a long period of lying flat (i.e. while sleeping). I recommend that you meet with your provider in person to discuss your concerns to ensure that your healing is progressing as anticipated.
