I broke my nose about 5 years ago. Can a nose be reset without Rhinoplasty? (photos)

Your photos show that your nose is quite crooked, which could be the result of an old injury.  Correcting this will indeed require a formal rhinoplasty and your ones need to be re- broken. It sound like there may be some other issues on the inside of your nose causing your other symptoms. An exam by an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon would be needed to determine this.

Noses can usually be reset within a couple of weeks after an injury. This involves manipulating the broken bones back into position and does not require any incision, typically. Beyond a couple of weeks after the injury the bones are usually well healed enough that anything short of cutting and moving the bones back into position is ineffective. Thank you for the question and the pics. Unfortunately, there isn't a non-surgical method for straightening a broken or crooked nose 5 years later. Non-surgical setting of the nose typically only works within a couple days of the injury, and is best within a couple of hours. Good luck moving forward!

Unfortunately, the only method to reset your nose that was broken 5 years ago is to undergo rhinoplasty.  There is no none surgical way to treat this problem.  

A rhinoplasty does not have to be performed on the nose unless you want to change the shape of it. A reduction of the nasal fracture with medial and lateral osteotomies can be accomplished. In addition, a spreader graft placed on the concave side may also be necessary. Also important to make sure there's not a deviated septum which is quite common after a severe fracture such as this.

If you had seen a surgeon at the time of your fracture it could have been set however now you will need osteotomies and probably septal work to straighten the nose and help improve your breathing. There are no acupuncture treatments or otherwise to re-set your nose. As far as rhinoplasty surgery see a surgeon who can show you the proposed surgical result using imaging and you can see if rhinoplasty is for you. I have a lot of professional athletes both male and female as well as many athletic patients who have fractured their noses from hockey, boxing, soccer,  etc and they have very rewarding results. Nasal fractures can be reset without a rhinoplasty if done in the first week of the injury. In your case, based on the photos, you would need a surgical procedure to get any permanent correction.
