The way your nose looked right after surgery is more like what it should end up looking like. Swelling generally maxes out a couple days after surgery and will take about a year to completely resolve. This depends on how thick your skin is. The thicker the skin, the longer it takes for swelling to subside after rhinoplasty. 

The immediate appearance is what you and the surgeon HOPE the nose will look like down the road.  In reality, scarring and tissue thickening below the skin will likely make things a little bit thicker, though there are many tricks and techniques for modifying the body's desire to thicken the tissues.

Yes the photograph you took after surgery is a good indication of the proposed result after the swelling dissipates. Give yourself a few months for the majority of the swelling to dissipate and then an entire year for the last small percentage. Hoping you have an excellent result. Best regards, Michael V. It takes weeks to months for the swelling to subside after Rhinoplasty.  Your nose begins the healing process after the procedure, and yes it can swell.  Have patience, and follow your surgeon's post op instructions for your best result.  Best wishes!
