I. November 2018 I had liposuction under my chin and neckarea. I had also a medpor medium chinimplant. It looked horrible and the surgeon took it out 31. January 2019. I am unhappy and depressed. What can be done to fix the damage? Fat transfer, cadaver tissue? I watched Botched and there wa a woman with cobraneck that was fixed with a fat graft.
Answer: REvision Alloderm (cadaveric tissue) can be used to help mask the overagressive liposuction but in the end the first thing that needs to be done is review if the issue is with scar bands or the muscle (platysma) that is showing through. For you it looks like scar bands but you would need an in person consultation. If it is simply scar, starting with steroids can help (even though it has been a long time). After that one would consider fat grafting. Hope that helps!

Answer: Botched from liposuction people with bad liposuction results typically have been over treated. This appears to be the case with you. This is very difficult to correct. The treatment options are pretty much what you stated. I don't have experience with cadaveric dermal tissue placement but this seems like it could be an option. The problem with fat transfer is you no longer have any tissue to properly support the graft. You can't graft into the skin and you're not have skin on muscle. Grafting fat into your muscles will just create bulk but not replace the fact that was removed. Placing fat in the space where your fat was previously will most likely simply be observed because it doesn't have healthy tissue to support the graft. The program he saw where the patient was treated with fat transfer May have shown good results. If the results were not shown at least six months out from the procedure then the results may not be accurate. For sure someone can show nice improvements by taking pictures early. The question is what to do the long-term results look like? My experience has been fat transfer works poorly to correct this problem. The best approach would be to graft small amounts of that multiple times. 3 to 4 rounds of fat transfer may do the job sufficiently that you could except the outcome. My best guess is a single session would leave you highly disappointed. For people who would benefit from a neck or face lift( kind of the same thing depending on the approach) A facelift could be an option. From your pictures it doesn't look like this is a procedure you would need so it's a lot to go through to try to correct liposuction results. People with less experience may be more enthusiastic about a fat transfer. Make sure they can show you pictures that are at least six months out of good results I can't emphasize enough the importance of having long-term after picture. Anyone can show you good results in the short term from placing fat there. I'm sorry you're in this situation and I'm sorry that I can't offer you more enthusiasm. This is a very difficult situation to correct and the truth is it may not be possible. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD ( A fellow Scandinavian now living in the USA )
