There are many different types of wrinkles on the neck. These include horizontal lines, vertical lines and wrinkles that are related to skin elasticity. For each of the wrinkle reasons, there are different treatments and detailed in-person examination is needed. Please make sure that you see an experienced doctor for a thorough consultation and assessment prior to undergoing any treatments.Best regards and I hope this helps, Dr. Sapijaszko.
Botox works great for these however it doesnt help the wrinkles just the banding. Wrinkles can be improved with fillers, lasers like fraxel or microneedling RF intensif, or threads. Best, Dr. Emer.
Botox works well to relax vertical neck bands and can soften crepiness. Fillers can also help, as well as fractional lasers and microneedling.
Without photos it is difficult to give an acuate answer. Anterior neck bands caused by the underlying Platysma often become noticeable with active gimacing of the mouth\lower face or extension of the neck. Botox or Dysport will decrease the muscle contraction and banding effect. Skin lining is best improved with skin resurfacing procedures such as skin peels, micro needling, or Fraxel laser. Dermal fillers for skin lining such as Juvederm, Vobella can be injected but more difficutl to get as good results as with skin resurfacing.
Hello,A photo would help to make more specific suggestions. There are some muscles in neck which would cause some concerns, they are vertical particularly around chin and jaw line would be more prominent. Some may call them "Turkey Neck".Some lines come on horizontally and those are more resistant because the skin over time is affected and may need filler, PRP, laser Fraxel to see some improvement. All the Best -- See an Expert Ray Bayati, MD Sacramento Area, California
Botox helps a lot with vertical wrinkles and not with horizontal ones. Botox works very well in the neck area. Fraxel laser, eMatrix, and chemical peels also help a great deal to rejuvenate the skin. We also do a great deal of Thermage to tighten the neck and jowls and with the new Thermage FX expect to have even better results. Please consult an expert in lasers and injections for the best cosmetic results. Best, Dr. Green
Wrinkle relaxers like Botox and Dysport work great for soften vertical neck bands caused by contraction of the platysma muscle. Horizontal wrinkles however are better treated using skin resurfacing treatment like fractionated lasers or microneedling combined with softer fillers such as Juvederm Volbella or Restylane Silk.
Thanks for the great question! Botox can help the vertical banding in the neck, but does not help with the horizontal lines. Those are best treated with some type of skin resurfacing.Best,~Dr. Sieber
Thank you for your question. A photo would be very helpful, but what you describe sounds like prominent platysmal bands. The platysma is a broad, flat muscle of facial expression extending downward from the jaw line. In some individuals, the muscle forms very visible vertical bands. These have been treated with local injection of Botox, in order to decrease the muscle activity, thereby softening the area. This is considered an 'off-label' use of Botox, and should only be performed by an experienced injector working with a board-certified specialist.
It is hard to say if Botox will benefit you without seeing pictures. Botox can be injected in the neck to treat neck bands. Botox will relax the muscles causing the bands and this will give the neck a more smooth relaxed and youthful appearance.
Dear stormstar,Thank you for your question.Jaw slimming is a commonly performed procedure here in Asia. What you mentioned is most likely a side effect of treatment. Did you undergo dysport or botox treatment?1. Dysport takes 3 days to start weakening the muscle. Your risorius muscle may be...
Yes, you may get Botox injections a few days prior to hairline hair transplant. The Botox targets the muscles of facial expression (for example the frontalis muscle for forehead wrinkles), which has no bearing on healing for hair transplant surgery. Avoid rubbing the area of Botox on the day o...
It depends. Certain muscles, especially around the mouth, cannot be treated with a neurotoxin like Botox because it prevents the muscle from moving. In areas like the forehead or between the brows, this is a desired effect, however, it may not be if the affected muscle is one that helps us smile...
