Still feel my nose is over projected after rhinoplasty surgery, could it just be swelling?

You appear to have an attractive early rhinoplasty result and in my view, it is too soon to judge the final result and projection. Recovery of the skin and soft tissues of the nose effects one's perception of tip and dorsal projection. After 8-12 months, much of the swelling subsides, and minor concerns could be addressed then if necessary. Personally, I would not be overly worried about your nose now as you are not too overprotected and further recovery time will likely show more improvement.

You should have negligible swelling at this point, but the stock answer is you need to wait six months before passing final judgement. There is probably another 20% of "swollen" and some settling that will occur.At this point, you do look a little overprojected and the length of your upper lip is relatively short in relationship to the length of your tip. Overall, I think your nose looks good. It will get better, yet. You may not want to mess with it trying to correct a 2 mm problem. Risk benefit of better v good can be challenging.

At 6-8 weeks the swelling residual is minimal. The nose appears attractive. Confer with your surgeon. Lessening the projection may be possible at a later date.All the best,Talmage Raine MD
