Its been one year p.o. with 275cc Mentor moderate plus textured impl. under the muscle. Since the first day the right breast feels much different that the left- it was horribly painful, i couldnt use my arm for a month, after that it took about 6 months till constant paint in the breast stopped. Its one year p.o and it still feels different- it looks perfect outside, but nipple is painful sometimes, i cant stay on my tummy because it hurts, most of the time it feels numb and strange. Any advice?
Answer: Breast pain after Aug. Thanks for writing,Based on your symptoms it seems as thought you have a capsule that is causing you problems by pulling on your chest wall tissues. Everything that goes in the body, pace makers, total hips knees, plates, screws etc, all form a scarred sac around them. Those objects are metal and solid, while breast implants are soft, so the scar can tighten and sometimes deform the tissues. The scar can also pull on surrounding muscle, ribs etc and this can cause pain. I would contact your operating Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, I am certain he or she would be happy to help you understand the problem and help you understand how to correct it. I hope this helps, good luckStephen M. Answer: Breast Implant Concerns Thank you for your question. It is possible the right breast healed differently than the left. The capsule that forms around the implant could be experiencing a capsular contracture which can be determined by your physician. Follow up with your board certified surgeon to address your concern. Good luck!

Answer: Pain one year after breast augmentation Thank you for the question. Sorry you are uncomfortable. It is best for you to see your surgeon. An examination and more detailed information about the pain will help them determine the cause. It is possible that the pain is from an early forming capsular contracture. Because you had this difficulty right from the beginning with this side, I would also be concerned that you may have pain related to inflammation or irritation around the nerve. Especially since you have some nipple discomfort. There are some medications that may be helpful. See your surgeon to help you with this.
