Is it normal to have bruises and swellings 5 months after liposuction?

My upper arms are still bruised and and my lower back a litter swollen and hurts.

I tell most of my patients that makeup can generally be worn about a week after liposuction under the chin. I'm not sure if your particular surgeon has a different view of when makeup could be worn again, so it would be best to ask him or her tomorrow when you go in to have your stitches removed.

It would not harm anything to use a cold compress a week after liposuction of the chin, but using a cold compress helps most in the first 2-3 days after surgery.  It's unlikely that the compress will help much after a week.  Swelling should be improving at this point though, so if you...
