Painful bumps lasting a week should not normally happen with Botox. If not cleansed properly prior to the injections the area may have become infected, I recommend following up with your Dermatologist.
Thank you for this question. I am sorry you are experiencing this. Hard, red and painful lumps one week after Botox injections is not normal. An in person exam would certainly be useful. I recommend you follow up with your injecting physician.
Thank you for your question. Redness and bruising can last up to a couple of weeks after injection. However red painful bumps are not normal and could mean there is infection. I would recommend consulting with your provider that administered the Botox or go visit a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist.
The bumps and redness could be localized infections. Redness or bruises after Botox usually last for few days. Consult with your doctor.
Hello Lauren9,No, hard painful bumps are not normal at any time after Botox. At the initial injection there can be some soreness but that is gone within a few days at the most. The area also doesn't become hard as the initial injection material diffuses to the adjacent tissue within about 30 minutes. This could represent an infection (was your forehead cleaned prior to injection?) or possibly a reaction to either the solution the Botox was mixed with or possibly you weren't injected with Botox (this would only really be possible if you weren't injected by a medical professional). I have heard of people trying to buy things on line and inject themselves which should never be done as Botox is not sold that away. I would recommend you follow up with your injector to evaluate what is going on. I hope this helps and good luck.
Thank you for posting your pictures. This is not the norm. Was this performed with a qualified injector? Seems like some of the areas where you were injected had a inflammatory response. Are you sure it was Botox injected? You should consider going back to your doctor for evaluation. Nothing bad is going to happen, but it is just not the norm after Botox injections. This might just be an inflammatory response to the needle entry points and may improve with topical corticosteroid creams.
I would definitely hold off on Botox for at least three months before your ptosis surgery since this may affect the results of the surgery. Best, Dr. Green
Sorry to hear of your troubles after getting Botox. Double vision is a rare complication of Botox injections around the eye. Seeing two objects when there is one will likely make your vision blurred as well. This is more likely to happen in a certain direction of the vision, when the mu...
It is unusual to see an allergic reaction after Botox administration. Having performed thousands of injections, I have seen possibly 1 reaction. While it is possible to develop an allergy to any antigen or protein, a true Botox allergy is rare. Also based on your information, the last botox a...
