I stopped wearing a compression garment at 5 weeks post op TT, MR, and lipo to flanks. I then wore it randomly until weaning myself fully off the garment at 6 weeks. I'm not 7 weeks post op and the swelling isn't horrible, but I feel it doesn't really go away 100%. I've read of others wearing their garments months after, could I have ruined my "flat" results by weaning my body off the compression too early? Will this be my final results or do I have more healing to do?

Answer: Stopped Wearing Compression Garment at 5 Weeks I have my patients wear their compression garment for 4 to 6 weeks to help control swelling. Surgeons have different opinions on this. It is not unusual to have some swelling for many months after surgery, you may not see your final result for up to a year after your surgery. Discuss any concerns you have with your surgeon. Good luck.

Answer: I stopped wearing a compression garment at 5 weeks post op TT, MR, and lipo to flanks. Did I ruin results? Thanks for your question. I have my patients wear a compression garment (faja) covering all treated areas 24/7 except to shower for 4 weeks post op. This helps ontrol swelling as the compression on your tissues helps your body to reabsorb the edema fluid that accumulates in the tissues after any procedure. This can take quite some time to happen without help from the compression garments. It also helps improve contour.
